The Yard Bangkok Hostel

The Yard Hostel, situated in the famous Ari neighborhood, is a fantastic place to stay when in Bangkok. Affordable and sustainable, this hostel has amazing shared spaces, including a garden with outdoor tables, mats and hammocks serving coffee, smoothies and food. In the evenings, everyone was hanging out in the garden, playing board games, chatting, listening to music... Super fun! We stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom, and I have to say that the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and the bathrooms far exceeded my expectations. We had to leave early in the morning, expecting to miss breakfast, but the lovely hosts packed up homemade yogurt and fruit bowls for us to go. Such thoughtfulness and care! I cannot recommend this place enough.

I stayed in three different types of rooms while I was there. Two different private rooms and the female dormitory. First of all the staff there is amazing and helps at every turn. The entire place is welcoming and comfortable. A fantastic environment to meet other travelers of all kinds. The Ari train station is just around the corner and extremely convenient for getting two other parts of Bangkok. Both private rooms were exactly as advertised..

The property was very interesting, relaxed chilled vibes and great if you want to socialise and great if you didn’t! Staff were really helpful very friendly. If you’re looking for a place closer to Khao San Road for example it’s about 20 minutes maybe longer depending upon traffic but I wouldn’t let that change your decision about staying there, the area around the place is lovely and is in the perfect location especially if you were saying for longer periods of time. Breakfast was great too which was a massive plus from us! The bed was super comfy and the room had space and bathroom was great! Would have definitely stayed longer if we needed to!

If you’re looking for peaceful vibes and a good social environment without the pressure and anxiety of a party hostel, this is the place for you. I met some of the nicest people in this hostel! The hostel has an indoor common area and of course the actual yard and it’s a great place to hang out and meet people to accompany you to explore Bangkok together. Breakfast is included in the price and that’s when most people come down and hang out so it’s a great time to spark up a conversation or in the afternoon where people are just chilling in the common area. There’s many nice eateries around including some local businesses around the hostel.

I really enjoyed my time in the yard as a 30-year-old solo female traveler. The hostel has a great atmosphere and is not a party hostel, which I appreciate. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, and they provide organic toiletry products. Additionally, the breakfast served is delicious and comes with good coffee. While the Ari neighborhood may not be close to the main tourist attractions, it has its own unique charm that I particularly enjoyed. The hostel is conveniently located near a subway station, making it easy to get around. I also appreciated being able to store my luggage at the hostel while I traveled around Thailand.
